Once again we squandered points against a team from the bottom end of the table.
With Steve Loveridge suspended (again) Alfie White got a long awaited start at left back with Chris Ogunlana switching to the right hand side. Luke Muldowney also got a rare start in centre midfield.
We started the game brightly enough, with the lion’s share of the ball and plenty of pressure but, once again, we didn’t really create any clear cut chances.
Jack Buckle gave us the lead in the 31st minute when he took full advantage of a little bit of space and rifled home an unstoppable shot from 25 plus yards. A great strike which gave us a half time lead.
Our visitors began the 2nd half with more enthusiasm and started to press our defence more than they had in the opening 45 minutes.
Over the season our back line has been pretty reliable but over the last few weeks some costly mistakes have been made and it was another mistake that provided Farnham with their equaliser in the 64th minute. A soft header back to our keeper was easily intercepted by the Farnham winger who squared for an easy tap in goal. Much frustration amongst our supporters who are witnessing this sort of thing all too frequently recently.
The goal encouraged Town and young Alex Partridge had to make a couple of good saves to prevent us going further behind before we finally discovered some urgency and started to look for a winner ourselves.
Levi King had a chance well saved and Alfie White went close with a lob but the Farnham defence held out for what was probably a deserved point.
