Great performance, to no avail

The boys put together our best performance for a number of seasons and still come away pointless, mainly due to a terrific goalkeeping performance.

The first half of this game was played predominately in the Badshot Half and we created a number of good chances. Unlike other weeks these chances were mainly on target but Kalum Lunn, the visiting goalkeeper, made a number of great saves to keep us out.

Despite having almost all the play we managed to concede  after 34 minutes when Cadete scored with Baddies only attack of the half. 1 down at half time, totally against the run of play, but with the performance we were putting together we had the right to believe that we could pull the game back.

2nd half was similar to the 1st. We continued to play some lovely football, confining Badshot to very few attacks and creating a number of chances ourselves. Once again though Lunn was equal to the task and with the visiting team working very hard in defence we couldn’t force the equaliser.

With time running out we pushed more men forward to try and get something out of the game, unfortunately the ploy backfired and, in the 93rd minute, Baddie caught us out and doubled their lead to claim all the points.

Considering our performance it was very disheartening not to win the game but the manager and players should feel too down. The football we played was excellent for the majority of the game and, if they keep that up, wins can’t be far away.
