ANOTHER POINT WELL EARNED

Our run of tough games continued with the visit of Frimley Green who turned up on the crest of a nine game unbeaten which had seen them climb into 6th position in the lead. The task was made harder by the fact that we had to lineup without 5 of the players, including our complete forward line, that played so well at Abbey Rangers the previous week.

The conditions weren’t great, a swirling wind made it difficult for any pretty football to be played so both sides adopted a more direct game, a tactic I suspect our visitors are more used to than ourselves. We knew that Frimley are a physically strong side that we would have to match them in this department if we were to get something out of the game, and our boys proved themselves more than able and took much of the game to our visitors.

The game itself was a fairly even affair, and although chances were relatively few, the Frimley keeper was the busier but he proved to be up to the task, especially towards the end of the first half when he did well to prevent Scottie Walker rounding him for what would have been a tap in.

Points shared but I know Boss Simon was disappointed that we didn’t get more out of the game. He should, however, take heart in the fact that we have come through 4 games unbeaten against sides in the top section of the table.

Another very tough game at the Ranch this Saturday when 2nd place Knaphill, unbeaten in 12, are the visitors. 3pm Kick off
