It’s been a long long time coming but after 14 attempts we finally have our first home win, and we did it in style.

Our visitors, Redhill, have been on a  good run lately, taking the scalps of a number of the teams at the top end of the table, and we knew we would have to at our best if we were to avenge the 4 nil defeat suffered at Kiln Brow earlier in the season.

We thought that our task had been made that bit easier when a defensive mix up in the 3rd minute gave Scottie Walker an easy finish to put us into the lead. We never held the lead long though as we managed to concede a penalty directly from the restart. Evan Lopes converted for the Lobsters.

Despite the soft penalty there was a feeling around the ground that we could put together a good performance and this proved so. Another defensive mix up allowed Scottie to poach his 2nd of the game and the impressive Tauran Roberts curled home a lovely shot from the edge of the box to give us a 3-1 lead at the break.

In the 2nd half our visitors pushed hard for the goal that would get them back in the game but our defense was more than a match and, with Scottie and Tauran causing a constant threat the victory always looked to be ours. With a few minutes to go Tauran broke free to score his 2nd of the game meaning that nervous cow shed could finally start to celebrate that allusive first home win. We will be looking for our 2nd on Tuesday night when we entertain Guildford City.
