Another clean sheet as, once again, the highest scoring team in the league failed to score against us.

In truth it wasn’t a great game and certainly not the best performance from us. Both sides were guilty of playing too many long balls, probably due to a firm, bumpy, sloping pitch.

We controlled most of the first half, and wasted a number of chances to take the lead, before Elliott Simpson twisted and turned to set up Meshach who finished with his usual aplomb in the 36th minute. Terry Buss made sure that we held the lead into the break with a very smart save to turn a nice shot around the post.

In the second half NGU came into the game more, pressing us back but, apart from hitting the post after the linesman missed an off side, they didn’t really cause us many problems.

Greenford a new to the league this season and, despite having a young side, have had a very good season. I think we can expect good things from them next season.

Another 3 points closer to the title and another tough game against Abbey Rangers at the Ranch on Saturday. Abbey currently sit in second place and will no doubt pose us quire a challenge.
