A very satisfying performance from the lads. Controlled the game from the kick off and Tel boy was, once again, rarely troubled, in our goal.

Despite all of our pressure it took us until the 37th minute to breakdown the Citizens defence. Meshach won the ball deep in our half and hit a lovely long pass into Sam Mersons path. Sams first attempt to chip the onrushing goalkeeper was parried out but he met the ball with his head to loop the ball into the net. 1 nil, a lead we took into the break.

The Boss was not happy with our lack of ruthlessness during the opening 45 but he must have been feeling better during the 2nd half as the lads scored 3 unanswered goals.

Sam Merson scored his 2nd of the game in the 67th when Meshach Williams skipped past his full back and squared to give Sam a simple tap in for his 9th league goal of the season. Theo Crawford, who very recently became a new dad, celebrated by jabbing home our 3rd before “Supersub”, Ben Merson, came on for his brother to finish off a lovely team move to score, what is becoming, his habitual goal.

Good performance. Away to another new ground next Saturday when we take of Wokingham & Emmbrook.
