Another brace for Tom

Another couple of goals from Tom Neale, and a half time rocket from the Gaffer, saw us complete the league double over the Knappers.

We put together a pretty lack luster display in the first half and we went into the break a goal down, courtesy of a super strike from Knaphill’s Jimmy Norman. We did create a couple of half chances but in all honesty didn’t pose much of a threat at all.

That all changed in the second half however following a half time “pep” talk from the gaffer. Ross Cheethams introduction gave us more of an attacking threat and within 4 minutes of the restart we were level when Levi King tapped home from close in.

We now looked a lot more balanced and we started to put our hosts under increasing pressure. With 10 minutes remaining we took the lead when Tom Neale took advantage of some indecisive defending by the Knaphill back line. 5 minutes later the points were wrapped up when Tom lobbed the keeper for his 18th goal in 21 starts. Not a bad return for a player that Epsom & Ewell “didn’t need”.

The result sees us go into 2nd position in the league once again. We will be looking to stay there when we entertain Badshot Lea this Saturday
