Athan spoils New Year at Orchard

Our opening game of 2017 was all over inside 20 minutes.

Athan Smith-Josepth started the year in very sprightly form, and that was very unfortunate for the Bedfont & Feltham right back who Ath skipped round twice in the opening 15 minutes. Both times he provided a cross which meant the easiest of finishes for Levi King (13 minutes) and Tom Neale (15 minutes) and the easiest of starts for us.

5 minutes later and the game really was over. Dillers broke down our left wing and aimed a low cross towards the advancing Tom Neale. The B&F centre half had to get something onto the ball and, unfortunately for him, the ball fired past his own keeper to give us an unassailable lead. 3 nil into the break.

The second half was a pretty dead affair although we still had the lions share of the ball, and the chances. Bobby was a virtual spectator in our goal and indeed had very little to do all the game.

We scored our 4th goal with 20 minutes to goal and it was a little bit special. Jessie Atiase who had replaced Ade just 10 minutes earlier smashed an unstoppable shot over the B&F keepers head from the edge of the box. A very nice goal.

This was a victory that the boys deserved for the effort they have put in recently. A much tougher test for us on Saturday when Westfield visit the Ranch.
