A big win over local rivals Spelthorne, but I don’t think anybody would have seen it coming at half time.
The game started with us very much on top but unable to convert a number of chances created in the first 20 minutes or so. After the initial flourish by ourselves the game settled down and become much more even, with chances few and far between. Goal less at half time.
Not sure what Tom Neale had for refreshments during the break but he started the 2nd period a new man. Tom has only been with the club since the end of October, but he has already made an impression with his eye for a goal. Today he took it to a new level.
With 51 minutes gone Tom put us in front, 7 minutes later and he had completed his hat trick, the 3rd goal an absolute cracker. The game was well out of Spelly’s reach now and it was now surprised that we added to our lead. It was also no surprise that it was Tom who scored, this time with a header.
With the game petering out, and with most of our supporters retiring to the bar for a pint of gloat, Louis Angol was brought down in the box. The ever reliable Jack Buckle stepped up to score our 5th, and to make our day complete. Happy Days.
The boys have a nice rest before our next game. We entertain AFC Hayes on the 27th December. Kick off is at 1pm. See you there.
