Just the 3 for the boys

What a season for Nigel James and his Under 18’s squad.

A 4-2 win over close rivals Ascot United in their penultimate league game meant that a victory over bottom of the table Hartley Wintney would see them win the Allied Youth League (Central Division) at their 1st attempt. As it turned out the edge was taken of the achievement slightly when Hartley were unable to fulfill the fixture meaning the boys become Champions by default. Chances are they woukld have had a comfortable win anyhow.

Winning the league meant the lads were entered into the Champions Cup, a knockout competition with the winners of the other 3 Allied Counties leagues. We were drawn to play away to Didcot Town the winners of the North Division. Goals form Hassan Habimana and Scottie Walker saw us through to the final with a 2 nil win.

The final was played at Bracknell Town FC against Camberley Town the winners of the South Division. Camberley progressed to the final by beating East Division Champions North Greenford Utd by 5 goals to 1.
