And….we’re off

After what seems forever, preperations for a new season finally began, with the Boss taking a squad of 20 for the short trip to Staines Town for our opening Pre Season Friendly.

“The Swans” were further into their preperations, having already played 3 PSF’s, but our mixture of regulars and trialists but together a good display to comfortably earn a 1 all draw.

Both goals came in the dying moments of the 1st half. We took the lead when trialist Oscar neatly setup for Meshach to fire a great shot past the Staines keeper. A deserved lead for us after a long period of pressure. However the lead didn’t last long as Staines immediately pulled level with an equally impressive shot from just outside the box.

The 2nd half saw us field a new eleven and, once again, the boys put together a decent performance. Despite having a lot of the ball however, we were unable to get the winner.

Tuesday (13th) brings another big challenge with the visit of Hampton & Richmond for the innaugral meeting for the Gary Craig Memorial Trophy. This cup has been donated by the visitors to mark the passing of Gary, a loyal committee member, and a really good mate of everyone at the club. If you knew Gary please take this opportunity to come down and swap stories about the old rogue.
